MALAYSIA, 25/11/2024 (Asia News Channels) - Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL) successfully concluded its inaugural Charity Run on November 17, 2024, in Putrajaya, gathering over 1,700 participants and raising RM45,000 for the CVSKL Foundation. Flagged off by YB Datuk Dr. Mohd Radzi Jidin, Member of Parliament for Putrajaya, the event began at 7:20 a.m. and attracted participants across various age groups, including families and individuals with disabilities. Highlights included a giant heart-shaped walkthrough structure, interactive health booths promoting heart-healthy lifestyles, and free health screenings.

The event culminated in a mock cheque presentation by Datuk Dr. Rosli, Consultant Cardiologist and Person-in-Charge of CVSKL, to Dato’ Azzat Kamaluddin, a trustee of the CVSKL Foundation. Speaking at the event, Datuk Dr. Radzi remarked, “This run is not just about raising funds; it’s about fostering community engagement and uniting everyone to support a cause that profoundly impacts many lives.”

Datuk Dr. Rosli emphasized CVSKL’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, stating, “One of the four pillars that make us a Centre of Excellence is our commitment to giving back to the community. This event is particularly special as it marks our 7th year anniversary in November—a perfect way to celebrate through wellness and supporting a worthy cause.”

The CVSKL Foundation, established in 2022, supports education and awareness initiatives on cardiovascular health, conducts research, and provides financial aid to underprivileged individuals with cardiovascular conditions. The foundation has assisted 27 patients since its launch and was jumpstarted with an initial RM1 million contribution from CVSKL doctors.

Mr. Raymond Wong, CEO of CVSKL Foundation, expressed gratitude for the donations: “Every ringgit donated will go towards helping patients in need. We hope that this will inspire others to join us in our mission to raise funds to support our causes.”

The event’s success was supported by sponsors Kinohimitsu, MBT, TAGS Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, and Viatris. CVSKL extended thanks to all participants and partners who contributed to making the event a success.
