03/11/202 (Malaysia) - In a recent filing with the stock exchange on Monday, Ranhill Utilities Bhd has announced its intention to collaborate with China Energy International Group Co Ltd (CEIG) for the proposed development of regional public-private drinking water supply projects in Indonesia. The partnership is set to advance the Ir H Djuanda/Jatiluhur II water supply project, with further plans to develop and cooperate on other potential projects throughout Southeast Asia.
The utility group specified that a detailed scope of work, rights, responsibilities, and obligations for the collaboration would be negotiated, discussed, finalized, and mutually agreed upon by both parties in due course.
CEIG operates under the umbrella of China Energy Engineering Corp Ltd, which is dual-listed on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges. The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing's website outlines the Ir H Djuanda/Jatiluhur II project, including the construction of an intake channel, transmission pipelines, a water treatment plant, and main development networks.
The project is structured with a financial model consisting of 30 percent equity and 70 percent debt, with a concession period of 30 years.
