MALAYSIA/ CHINA, 04/10/2024 (Asia News Channels) - A significant networking event took place yesterday at the Huazong Building in Kuala Lumpur, hosted by GUOANN Dot Com (Guoann.com). The event focused on exploring cooperation opportunities in the rail transport and construction sectors, with an emphasis on deepening bilateral collaboration in engineering technology.
The event attracted representatives from Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) - Highway and Transportation Engineering Technical Division (HTETD) , Ir Foo Kam Fei, Prof Ir Dr Khoo Hooi Ling, Ir Chin Kar Keong and Mr Omar A Mohsen M. Additionally, four private architecture and consultant firms—Just Architecture Sdn Bhd, YNY Consulting Engineering Sdn Bhd, Aries Engineering Consultants Sdn Bhd and JW East Consultancy Sdn Bhd—also participated.
Xi'an Traffic Engineering Institute, renowned for its expertise in rail transport technology, sent a delegation of professors and lecturers from its Civil and Rail Engineering School. Their visit aimed to explore collaborative opportunities with Malaysia’s construction industry and academic institutions, focusing on the potential for technical exchange and joint development.

During the event, Mr. Zhao Wei, Vice President of Xi'an Traffic Engineering Institute and Mr. Zhang Jinchuan, President of Xi'an Xinglian Technology and Trade Industry Research Institute engaged in detailed discussions with Prof. Ir. Dr. Khoo Hooi Ling on various rail engineering topics. A key area of focus was enhancing academic resource sharing and improving teaching and research standards through cultural and professional exchange programs between the two universities. The delegation from Xi'an Traffic Engineering Institute also expressed plans to offer short-term courses for civil engineering professors from Malaysian universities, further promoting sustained interaction between the two nations in the field.
The event paved the way for future collaborations between Malaysian architecture firms and Xi'an Traffic Engineering Institute while opening doors for more extensive cross-border cooperation in rail transport and civil engineering.
