MALAYSIA, 18/09/2024 (Asia News Channels) - The Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (Kuskop) is targeting potential investments of RM80 million through the participation of 26 halal companies and 14 local brand franchise companies at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas) 2024.
Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick stated that the ministry aims for a sales value of RM30 million from halal industry products and RM50 million from franchise industry products. Last year, Mihas generated RM20 million in sales for halal products through Kuskop's involvement.
Speaking at the opening of the Kuskop Mihas Pavilion at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) on Tuesday, Benedick highlighted the ministry’s ambition to foster discussions and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with industry players during the three-day event. Four MOUs were signed between local halal companies and domestic and international business partners at the event.
Kuskop's participation at Mihas, Benedick emphasized, underscores the government's commitment to promoting local entrepreneurs on a global stage. He expressed confidence that the event will provide opportunities for Malaysian entrepreneurs to expand their business networks through increased strategic cooperation with international investors.
Mihas 2024, organized by the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), runs from Tuesday until September 20.
