10/08/2023 (Malaysia) - The Green Lane Pathway represented a pivotal step in Malaysia's journey to becoming a regional digital and manufacturing powerhouse, noted Investment, Trade, and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz. Malaysia's strategic geographic location and attractive investment landscape positioned it as an ideal hub for data center operations in the region.
Tengku Zafrul highlighted that Malaysia had already attracted prominent players in the data center and cloud sector, including Amazon Web Services and ByteDance System Sdn Bhd, the owner of TikTok. He spoke during the launch of TNB Green Lane supply and strategic offerings for data centers at TNB Platinum in Kuala Lumpur.
The Green Lane Pathway streamlined data center operations, expediting approvals and facilitating swift setups. TNB offered fast-track electricity supply, reducing connection time from 36-48 months to 12 months. TNB also provided round-the-clock maintenance assistance and tailored solutions for data center requirements.
This event also marked the establishment of five strategic partnerships through electricity supply agreements with Yellowwood Properties Sdn Bhd, AirTrunk Malaysia Sdn Bhd, SIPP Power Sdn Bhd, and GDS IDC Malaysia Sdn Bhd. A memorandum of understanding was also signed with MRANTI Corporation Sdn Bhd.
