07/12/2023 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) - The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore has awarded a contract worth SGD 509.57 million (RM1.77 billion) to Gamuda Bhd Singapore Branch (GBSG) for the design and construction of West Coast stations and tunnels.
In an announcement made to Bursa Malaysia today, Gamuda Bhd stated that the West Coast Station is part of Phase 2 of the Cross Island Line (CRL2), spanning 15 kilometers and featuring six stations.
CRL2 serves as a high-capacity transit route in Singapore, and the West Coast Station will be constructed along West Coast Road, with GBSB responsible for building an underground station and two tunnels measuring approximately 1.9 kilometers in total.
The company noted that the project is set to commence in the first quarter of 2024 and is expected to be completed by 2032.
"The contract is anticipated to contribute positively to Gamuda Group's revenue and earnings for the financial year ending July 31, 2024," it stated.
