MALAYSIA, 25/04/2024 (Asia News Channels) - Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), the driving force behind Malaysia's telecommunications 5G infrastructure, has officially announced a significant restructure of its board. On April 25, 2024, DNB disclosed the induction of five distinguished leaders into its Board of Directors, signaling a new phase in the advancement of the nation's 5G digital infrastructure.

Effective as of April 24, the reshuffle follows a Share Subscription Agreement inked by DNB, the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, and five Mobile Network Operators on December 1, 2023. These new members, noted for their expertise in the technology sector, will collaborate with the existing board members, Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican and Mr. Ma Sivanesan Marimuthu, to drive strategic growth.

The fresh lineup of directors includes Datuk Kamal Khalid of CelcomDigi, Uthaya Kumar A/L K of Maxis Broadband, Chang Yit Fei of U Mobile, Nik Azli Abu Zahar of Telekom Malaysia, and Dato' Seri Yeoh Seok Hong of YTL Power International. Alongside them, appointed alternate directors are set to support the leadership team.

With the ushering in of new leadership, DNB emphasizes its commitment to leveraging their collective insight to bolster Malaysia's 5G technology across various sectors. The expectation is that this strategic move will contribute significantly to the enhancement of Malaysia's digital landscape, impacting industries, enterprises, and public sector services.

DNB's latest step represents a milestone in Malaysia's journey towards becoming a fully integrated digital economy. The organization remains focused on the collective goal of enriching the nation's digital infrastructure, which is fundamental to its economic and social progression in the digital era.
