19/09/2023 (Malaysia) - AmBank (M) Bhd and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) partnered through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create the "Amplifying MSMEs Programme," nurturing and uplifting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This collaboration aimed to impart financial and business knowledge, enhancing participants' acumen through workshop programs.
The initiative sought to equip participants with financial literacy, financial management, business operations, and digital transformation knowledge. The focus was on expanding 200 selected MSMEs who had benefited from the BSN microfinancing scheme. The goal was to elevate their businesses by facilitating access to essential financial services tailored to their evolving needs.
Ambank Group CEO Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir expressed hope that the partnership would empower MSMEs with financing insights and exposure to innovative business models. BSN CEO Jay Khairil highlighted that this program aligned with BSN's corporate strategic plan to transition micro customers into the small business segment.
The program, spanning from this month to December 2023 in various locations, included a cash reward of RM10,000 for the best business module at each location. Exceptional participants received the Best Business Module MSME Award, with opportunities for eligible graduate MSMEs to access special financial product offers from AmBank.
