20/12/2023 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) - Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Grace Lee Hwee Ling as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), set to take effect on January 1, 2024. This strategic move was disclosed in a recent notification to Bursa Malaysia.
Dr. Hwee Ling, 48, is set to replace Shafiq Abdul Jabbar, 46, who has been appointed as the CFO of AMMB Holding's Bhd, effective from February 15, 2024.
Prior to this new role, Dr. Hwee Ling joined Astro as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the group in August 2023. Her extensive experience in the finance sector is further highlighted by her previous role as the CFO of Aeon Co (M) Bhd.
Dr. Hwee Ling's journey with Astro dates back to 2002, where she served until 2021. During her earlier tenure with the company, she held various significant positions, including Head of Process Improvement, Group Financial Controller, Chief Risk Officer, CEO of Go Shop, and Group Chief Transformation Officer.
